Brief History

The Tubod-Bary Water District (TBWD) was created under a Special Law, Presidential Decree 198 as amended by PD Nos. 768 and 1479 better known as the "Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973." TBWD was awarded with the Certificate of Conditional Conformance No. 228 by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) on November 8, 1982.

All Local Water districts were declared as Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) by the Supreme Court on September 13, 1991 in the case docketed as GR Nos. 95237-38.

The District has the following Objectives:

  1. To acquire, install, improve, maintain and operate water supply and distribution systems for domestic, industrial and agricultural uses for residents and land within the Municipalities of Tubod and Baroy, all of the Province of Lanao del Norte.
  2. To contribute to the economic growth and public health throughout as orderly and effective system of local utilities.
